TLW loves making wellness attainable. Today we’re talking about making your own oils for face and hair. There are plenty of natural oils out there that have various purposes. Some are topical, some are ingestible. Some are branded as essential oils and sold, others are just natural oils that have stood the test of time.
Our favorite ingredients we recommend for face and hair oils are jojoba, avocado, almond, and olive oils. Works for either natural or relaxed hair. These oils are known to fight aging, reduce hair shedding, restore, moisturize, and protect. Customize your quantity based on your own skin and hair textures. We lead with jojoba and almond oils for face. About equal quantities of each work for the hair mixture. Adjust up your olive oil amount if you like a heavier consistency. Grab ingredients from your healthy food grocer, and they sometimes even have empty pump bottles too.
A little goes a long way. Up to a quarter size can moisturize the thickest hair. The oils are expensive to make sometimes, but they can truly last a long time. We might spend $40 on the small bottles of each oil. But, it’s worth it. Our personal mixture lasts for two months with application a couple of times per week for hair and nightly for face. Top it off with some of your favorite EOs for an aroma that captivates you.
